Easy Post It Seating Chart

Seating Charts. Don't those words kind of make you cringe and think back to elementary school when you had to sit next to that weird smelling boy who would pull your hair and run away? Yikes. In fact, for my wedding I just said "no thanks" to the seating chart and let people sit where they pleased. It worked. But I also understand that some weddings and some people require seating charts and that's ok with me... as long as I have nothing to do with it.

Well praise the wedding gods because over at Something Turquoise you can learn how to make a DIY seating chart that will give you pencil and eraser a break. No more "Oh no, I erased that name and forgot to put them on the chart!" the day of the wedding. Or "Why is Aunt Hilda at table 4 and 7?".

Tutorial: Pom Poms

Check out this tutorial over at A Simple Kind of Life for DIY Pom Poms! These are so so pretty and would be great for any wedding. They're made of fabric glued to paper lanterns and I think the fabric makes them look much softer and more luxe. Plus, fabric is much more durable and you can totally bring these home (or send them home with a drooling guest) and use them as home decor.

So sweet.

Katie & Cameron's Camp Wedding

Since my wedding is a little unique being that it's at a camp ground and people will be staying the whole weekend, it's been hard to find weddings that I can look to for inspiration/help because nothing seemed to "fit" the way we were doing our wedding. Then I ran into Katie & Cameron's camp wedding. UH-Mazing! I'm head over heels in love with their invites, which lead you through the events for each day of camp. Seriously, it might be my favorite wedding ever... except maybe mine (cross your fingers all goes well!).

5 Bridesmaid Dresses under $30

Forever 21, you either love it or you hate it. I love it. I'm not going to lie - the quality isn't superb, but the prices are right. They have some great options as far as non-traditional and affordable bridesmaids dresses go. The second set of dresses I picked out for my girls are actually a dress that used to be carried at Forever 21. They were $28. The girls paid $145 + rush shipping for dresses we ordered online that I ended up hating and I found amazing dresses for $28. Go figure!

I'm pretty smitten with #3 and #4, myself.

Can't DIY it? Buy it!

I've personally been in a wedding favor dilemma for the past week or so. Yikes. Our wedding is at a camp ground so I wanted to do aluminum water bottles with our logo. So cute. But would aluminum water bottles be too harsh for the soft, vintagey feel we were going for? Possibly. Plus, at this point I have procrastinated enough (surprise, surprise) that their estimated delivery date is 4 days before the wedding. Hmm... risky. Me getting stuck with 120 water bottles? It would happen.

These ideas are super cute ideas that you could definitely DIY or buy.

DIY the Knot

Who starts a blog less than 3 weeks before their own wedding? ME! Why? I'm crazy like that. Also --- as your typical female I have been planning my wedding (and replanning, and planning again) since I took my first breath. So with my wedding inching closer and closer, the madness keeps getting madder and the thought that I will never get to plan my wedding again creeps up once in a while.

The answer? Living vicariously though other brides. Done and done. Writing about weddings, specifically DIY weddings = the way I will ease my wedding planning soul.

There you have it. DIY the Knot. I'm about to.
